Benjamin S. Burton—East Tennessee Defense Attorney
Benjamin S. Burton is an East Tennessee defense attorney who brings a wealth of specialized knowledge to his practice and the firm. Mr. Burton has always been drawn to positions that offer a sense of livelihood through community service. He began his career as a police officer with the city of Sevierville, where he became drawn to the intellectual rigor of the study of law. Becoming an attorney has allowed him to continue fulfilling his life-long goals of helping people through interpreting and practicing law. Mr. Burton is a strong advocate keenly focused on defending his clients’ rights. He relies on insightful law enforcement experience to help advise clients in need of an aggressive criminal defense. He also worked as a federal agent for the Social Security Administration (SSA). His time spent in this role directly impacts his Social Security Disability practice and offers his clients the benefit of an attorney with a comprehensive knowledge of the law and the SSA system.
In addition to his practice, Mr. Burton serves as an adjunct professor with South College in Knoxville, Tennessee. He currently teaches Constitutional Law and Evidence and has taught Legal Studies and Criminal Justice and Cyberlaw courses.
Mr. Burton is a long-time practitioner of various martial arts. He is a 3-time Tennessee state champion and has trained with the U.S. Olympic team. Years of advanced training have given him the high-level skill, stamina, and focus necessary to take on the formidable challenges in life—in and out of the courtroom.
